Downwinds in Brazil

The best downwinds in the world

Downwinds along the Northeast coast of Brazil

When it comes to Downwind trips, Brazil offers the best and widest variety hands down thanks to its geographical location and trade winds which blow from July all the way through to January. In the northeast of Brazil you will discover a mind-blowing 1200 km of coastline kitesurfing downwind. The wind blows constantly side-on-shore along the entire coast which allows you to kitesurf from spot to spot following the direction of the wind whilst enjoying all types of conditions. With its unique and magnificent landscapes, mammoth dunes, caribbean watered lagoons only accessible by sea and the endless possibilities to kite every condition imaginable makes Brazil the ultimate kitesurfing destination.

We would never assign more than 12 people to a group and we put all our efforts into making sure that everyone in the group has a similar level. This way, the downwinds flow according to the riders rhythm and above all, safety.

The 4×4 support vehicles always follow the downwinders along the beach (where feasible), allowing riders to stop and rest or change material whenever necessary. There is always a minimum of 1 guide in the water at all times leading the group and when many, another guide is assigned to cover the tail of the riders, providing the utmost control and safety for the group.

Traveling by kite exploring new and untouched spots is an incredible experience. During the journey we always stop for a minimum of 2 nights in each place allowing enough time to get to know all the surrounding spots and to rest. You will sleep in beautiful pousadas only a few meters from the sea and you will get to submerge yourself into their vibrant and diverse culture.

We offer 6 different downwind trips and 1 wave riding coaching trip. Pick the one that suits you best and begin your adventure now. What are you waiting for?

* If you cannot find a Downwind trip that interests you, do not hesitate to get in touch with us as we will do our very best to create one that works for you.

10 days – Lagoons and river mouths – Intermediate level required

kitesafaris Brazil

The east of Fortaleza has two of the best flat water spots Brazil can offer. It’s quite surprising that spots like Uruaú, Barra Nova or Parajuru are still unknown to most which is what makes it the perfect moment to jump on board now before it begins to change. You’re likely so see just a handful of kites out at sea and you’ll be mixing with “kite locals’; kitesurfers who have been coming or living in Brazil for many years and who are always in search of newer and better spots.
