We recommend a route that involves travelling 400 km by kite crossing 3 different states; Ceara, Piauí and Maranhão. Ceara offers you those dreamlike, deserted, long beaches where the winds blow you away down lagoons and river mouths hidden along the way. In Piaui you find Barra Grande, a true kite heaven. After that you’ll enter the biggest delta in the Americas, The Delta of Parnaiba with its countless tiny islands and lush amazon-like jungle. We end the trip in a charming little village on the tip of the spectacular and world-renowned park, The Lencois Maranhenses. There is not better place to end a trip. This is the place where time stops, where you’ll be kiting amongst magnificent dunes and in crystal clear lagoons completely emerged in nature and where you’ll never want to leave.

This Kite Safari is limited to a maximum of 12 people and a minimum of 3.
There will always be 1 or 2 guides in the water depending on the size of group.
It’s important to note that during the downwinds, the 4x4s won’t be able to follow the group along the beach at all times because of river mouths, mangroves, etc. that you’ll find along the way. During these parts you may by all means go in the car if you wish. Guides are there not only to lead the group, but also to ensure the safety of the group during the downwinds. If they believe there’s anyone who hasn’t have the necessary skills to ride along some advanced parts of the downwind, this person will have to go in the 4×4 during these parts for his own safety and the group’s as well.
We recommend you bring 2 different sized kites, 2 bars and 2 boards. To repair any type of material can be fairly complicated for the most part which is why we recommend bringing extra to avoid these types of situations. Also, one should bear in mind that being close to the equator, the sun is very strong so a good quality water proof sunscreen is a must. Zinc works very well. Sunglasses, long sleeve with UV protection and a hat is always a good idea.
If you’re a group of at least 3 friends, it is possible to personalise this trip for you by staying more or less days in each place. All you would have to do is let us know how you would like your Kite Safari to be and we will make it happen.
