This Downwind Wave Riding Coaching Trip is focused in helping you to improve your wave riding technique while discovering the best wave spots in the North East coast of Brazil. The coaching will be done by our Pro-wave rider Mario Benvenutti Neto, a true wave rider expert! Being able to ride downwind while playing with the waves along the way is the best way possible to improve our wave riding technique exponentially as you don’t need to ride upwind after each wave, you just continue downwind playing with every wave on your way during kilometers. In this trip you will find the adventure that a downwind trip offers, exploring and discovering completely unspoilt stretches of coastline and at the same time you’ll get top quality coaching to learn and improve your carvings, cutbacks and snapbacks!

DAY 1 -> Meeting Point in Taiba at 10:00 – Briefing and first wave kite session
DAY 2 -> Kite in Taiba – wave spot
DAY 3 -> Kite in Taiba – wave spot
DAY 4 -> Downwind Taiba – Paracurú (15km) – kite in Paracuru in the afternoon
DAY 5 -> Kite in Paracuru – wave spot
DAY 6 -> Downwind Paracuru – Guajirú (35km)
DAY 7 -> Downwind Guajirú – Emboaca – wave spot (10km) – back to Guajirú in the afternoon
DAY 8 -> Downwind Guajirú – Icaraizinho (55km)
DAY 9 -> Kite in Icaraizinho (wave spot)
DAY 10 -> Transfer back to Fortaleza
In the stretch of coastline between Taiba and Icaraizinho you will find the best wave spots in the state of Ceará. Thanks to the wind blowing constantly side or side-on shore in the whole North East coast, you’ll be able to travel by kite from spot to spot during hundreds of kilometers palying with the waves taking your wave riding to another level. The conditions are perfect for this!
The last possible date for the arrival in Taiba is the 26/10, as the coaching trip starts on the next day.
There will be a briefing every morning after breakfast to inform you about the conditions and program for the day. This will be followed by a theory session that will later be taken into practice. The content and frequency of these theory sessions will be adapted depending on how the trip evolves and to the need of each participant. During these sessions you will watch different videos in order to comment on them and see how the technique can be improved.
The group will stay a minimum of 2 nigths at each place we stop. In this way you’ll have time to get to know each place, to kite on the same spot and to relax.

Requirements to enter the country
To enter the country you will need a valid passport for at least six months from the date of entry. You will be permitted a tourist visa valid for up to 90 days which is obtained at the airport of your arrival. During the flight you will be handed an Arrival Card; a piece of paper that you receive upon arrival that must be filled in, authorizing your stay for a certain period. You must keep this document with you during your stay in Brazil as it must be handed in at customs on the day of your departure.
We advise you to contact the embassy of or consulate of your home country should you be in doubt about the requirements necessary to enter Brazil.
Local Currency
The Brazilian currency is called Brazilian Real (R$) and we advise you to check the exchange rates when exchanging your money.
Food & Drinks
Finally, the fruits vary depending on the region but every breakfast offers a wide selection of fruits and juices according to the season.
Internet Connection & Plugs
Every pousada that we work with offers a high speed wifi connection. The plugs have a two pin and fit into a type N socket (same as plugs used in most of Europe).
Vaccines & Medicines
In this region of the northeast of Brazil one does not need to be vaccinated, but we would advise you to consult your doctor to inform yourself about vaccinations should you decide to visit other parts of Brazil during your stay.
At the same time we advise you to bring a small First Aid Kit for convenience as it can be very difficult to find medicine especially in the more rural locations.
