Spots’ characteristics
Scarborough is a quaint seaside village just beside a white sandy beach with some small rocks on either sides of the beach forming a beautiful large creek. Waves form here very neatly offering great waveriding conditions when both NW or SE winds blow. Just a few hundred metres down the coast we find Misty Cliffs another awesome waveriding spot, although this one has quite a difficult access and waves can get pretty gnarly as they end up hitting the surrounding cliffs and rocks. Both spots are only for advanced riders, especially Misty Cliffs, not to be taken lightly, if you don’t know what you’re doing you can end up in big trouble here.

Witsand is a beautiful beach surrounded by green and sandunes and is home to an amazing spot for waveriding. To get down to the beach you need to park the car on the main road and go down walking. Both left and right waves form here and they can get pretty big, mainly during the winter season. This spot works perfectly with S and SE winds. With NW winds the conditions are off-shore, but the waves here become perfectly clean and organised with these conditions. This spot is suited for intermmediate and advanced riders.

Platboom is a spot inside Cape Point’s Nature Reserve. It’s an isolated beach with fine white sand and rocks surrounding. The spot works perfectly with SE winds and we find very nicely organised waves which can get up to 6 meters high when the Cape Doctor blows strongly and the swell is big. This spot is only suited for advanced and experienced waveriders.
